Our challenge to you for December is quite simply CHRISTMAS
I gave the design team some crocheted flowers to work with and there will be a prize for a randomly chosen winner at the end of the month of a pack of the same flowers.
Astrid
Here's my page using the green and white crochet flowers. The photo's are from my son's Christmas dinner at school in 2011 !
My Christmas will be spent down under this year and I couldn't resist making this postcard.
A Christmas card
I added one of Kerry's flowers to make this purse more interesting and pretty too.
A Christmas tag.
This tiny pot contains everything needed to make a chain mail bracelet. To make it look more like a gift I added vellum, ribbon and a crocheted flower and added a bit of sparkle too!
I hope you like my makes for this festive month.
Shell here to show you my creation for this month. I love anything Christmassy & love colouring, so when I saw this image by Inky Impressions I just had to use it!
Not a very traditional Christmas layout, but it is about me and my dreams and hopes for this Christmas, every year I do a Christmas daily journal so this is just starting it off ... I've used a christmas paper as a base and added lots of gold glitter embellies to make it more festive. I have some journalling on a tag at the top ... and tried to make the lovely crochet flowers as the focal point !
For my project created an Art Tag using one of Kerry's pretty paper flowers. I added a bit of color using pigment ink and the direct to paper technique. The pink lacy flowers and the scalopped background they are sitting on are also from one of Kerry's packages. The main focal point is Edwina one of my original digital stamps. The smile phrase is also digitally created.
I am very pleased to say that donations to the poppy appeal through sales of handmade poppies in my ebay shop and at craft fairs have amounted to £87.25. This amount has been sent to The Royal British Legion.
The fundraising for this charity will be ongoing throughout the year and once I've made more there should be a restock of poppies in the ebay shop soon

I had so much fun with this challenge, I love using elements like this. I chose a doily, ribbon, polka dots and bling!
Eleni
I always find recipe challenges inspiring, and I managed to actually include five 'ingredients' : bling, embroidery, polka dots, sprays, white space!
Shell
It took me so long to decide what elements of the recipe I was going to use, I was nearly late with my card...oops! I decided on ribbon, polka dots, doily & bling. Hope you have fun when you join in with us this month xx
For my project I created a couple of new altered art pages for my Altered Mini Notebook. I bought a little writing note book a while back and every once in a while, I add something to it or do a bit of painting in it. Until today I have never shared any of my pages and thought it was about time I did.
For my altered note boo pages I used: A couple of Buttons, A Gem for Bling, I drew and punched out Faux Polka Dots and included some Red Embroidery Thread, not quite Embroidery but hope it will do.
Kerry, Thank You for giving me some much needed time off, it's nice to be back again. :)
How does this flower fairy picture inspire you? Isn't she gorgeous? I love flower fairies. This image comes from here
This is a just for fun month but if you want to show us your creativity inspired by the picture there is a linky tool at the bottom
You'll have to excuse the rubbish photo. My phone lead has gone for a walk and I couldn't edit it - I made some brooches following the colour and fairy scheme.
and here is how our lovely design team were inspired:
I found this fab book by Dawn Sokol (available from Amazon) which is a great way to get started art journaling or improve your doodle skills. I decided to use the page below to create this months DT piece.
The colours seemed perfect for an autumnal feeling piece.
I used Faber Castell Big Brush Pens, Crayons and Gelaotos to create the finished piece above.
The first thing about the image that spoke to me was the fairy, so I definitely drew inspiration from her, as well as the colors and the leaves. The message of 'love' is always a good one to spread.
Shell
I decided to use a fairy on my card, also giving it an autumnal feel using autumnal colours & papers.
Thank you for all your entries into the September challenge. They were all fab. The random number generator picked number 5 as the winner which is coops
Well done. If you can email me your address details to craftgardenshop@aol.com I will get your prize out to you asap.
Welcome to September. We hope you have had a lovely restful summer and are ready to do some crafting.
This month sees some massive fresh starts in my household with my 3 eldest children moving on a step in their lives to work/university/college so I went in search of a fresh themed moodboard for our September challenge and found this one via Pinterest I'm loving those colours.
There will be a little prize of some flowers themed around this board drawn at random from all the entries received by 11pm GMT on 29th September. The winner will be announced on 30th September. Please enter via the inlinkz button below. As always you can enter any craft, we aren't just about papercraft, as long as it has been completed between 1st and 29th September 2014 and we can see how you have been inspired by the challenge.
Hi, I'm so glad that Kerry asked me to stay for another term, doing the happy dance :-) !!! For this mood board I was inspired by those pretty soft colors and flowers and decided to do a summer layout with it.
The vintage phone in the photo really spoke to me. I vintagey stuff and the colors sort of felt vintage, too. I used a lot of purple with the green, they compliment each other well.
I'm so happy to be back again, and what lovely inspiration to start off with! As I'm recently back from holidays I was inspired to use the colours and create a travel layout!
For my project I have created an Art Trading Card. I didn’t have much
in my stash in the right colors so created most of what I used. I’m a
collector of old things and the beautiful dancer I used as the
main focal point is an old post card which I digitally restored, and
re-colored. Originally it was mostly brown. I also created the little
starburst embellishment on the top left hand corner, the two brown
backgrounds on the right side as well as the sentiment. The little angel
is something I have been hanging onto for years, waiting for just the right project and this was it. :).
I decided to use the colours the moped image for my inspiration this month. I just love any shade of green with purple it looks fab. I'm really happy with the outcome of my card....hope you like it too x
Please add your link by clicking the inlinkz button. Entry is open until 11pm GMT on 29th September and a winner will be drawn at random once entry closes and announced on 30th September. Good luck
Welcome to July. We hope the summer is treating you well.
This month your inspiration is a photo I took at Burnham On Sea in Somerset last summer. I love how unusual and striking this lighthouse is.
As the ethos of the team has always been that crafting is primarily for fun this month there is no prize or link. We would love to see your creations though so feel free to comment on this post with a link to your project.
I was immediately inspired by the ligthouse. I had this lighthouse chipboard laying around, and colored it in the colors on the photo, for more texture I added some modeling paste at the bottom of the chipboard. This is my last post for The Craft Garden. It was a pleasure working on all these challenges and a big thanks to Kerry !!!
For this months challenge I used 3 10cms square canvases, suede thong, Americana paint by DecoArt, a sheet of scrapbook paper and the seagulls are a Stampotique stamp.
Shell as soon as I saw this gorgeous photo, I remembered an image I had won a long time ago by Digi Darla. It's another of those haven't used ones....just loved this challenge & colouring in my image! I hope you will join in with us this month x
Eleni When I first saw the photo what inspired me was the layout, and colours of the lighthouse in relation to everything else in the photo ... so I translated it like a sketch and created this:
Lisa I was so inspired by the colors in the lighthouse, that's where this card came from. Another challenge as I went masculine, but I'm happy with the outcome.
Welcome to June - the month of the longest days here in the northern hemisphere.
Your challenge is to be inspired by
ORANGE YELLOW and LIME
This month is a just for fun month with no prize (taking crafting back to the enjoyment value we all started doing it for) so there is no linky tool. We would love to see what you have created though. If you would like to show us please leave a comment below with a link to your project.
This is a 6" x 4" folder from 7 Gypsies. I covered the front and back using paper from Fancy Pants, and added a panel of fabric that I had stenciled using fabric paint. The flower and leaf were also decorated with fabric paint too.
Inside I used card stock and a 3D paper flower supplied by Kerry.
I used the keepsake envelope Kerry supplied & I made a journal from the journal card she supplied too.
