May

Welcome to May.

1st May is Lei Day in Hawaii so your challenge is to take this photo as your inspiration

Entry is via the inlinkz button below this post and closes at 23:59 GMT on 30th May 2014. There will be a prize of some paradise coloured flowers for one entry drawn at random after that date. Our rules are that your entry must be created during the month of May 2014 and you can only enter 4 other challenges with the entry for our challenge. This is because we, and other challenge blogs, take time to make our challenges individual and unique. When people enter more than 5 challenges with the same project it takes away that uniqueness.  Any entry found to have entered more than five challenges this month will be disqualified.

Here is what our lovely design team have created

                                                                      Astrid
I was inspired by the pink colors and flowers, I never use many flowers on my pages, but I thought this photo could use some. On the photo my son at the castle of Sleeping Beauty in the fairy tale park.

This is a page from my art journal. I made the background using a Gelli Plate and DecoArt paints. I used Zentangle patterns to create the falling strands and the wording are rub-ons from Kaisercraft. I added a border of a reptile skin affect tape by 7 Gypsies and a flower to finish the page.

I was inspired by the lazy feel of the photo - the clouds, the calm beach, the lovely sea. I also picked up some of the lei colours, mostly pink and a bit of cream and green! The box is an order I got from a friend's sister. I filled the inside with some beach sand and put in some seashells and a bottle with a scroll in to write her message on. The four sides of the box are covered in pictures. The top has a doily, a Dear Lizzy frame, a wood veneer camera and hand cut vellum clouds which add a bit of softness to the look. Hope you enjoy doing this challenge!

I couldn't stop seeing sunbathers in my mind after looking at the inspiration photo.  I wanted to embrace the Hawaiian inspiration and the seashells.  The sunbather on the far left would be me--burnt before she's tan! :)

I decided to use the beach & waves as my inspiration, along with some of the gorgeous colours!

I was inspired by the wonderful colours the seaview and the lei flowers to create this layout.
